The Importance of the Mizzou Brand
How we communicate with our audiences has impact. A strong brand builds trust. It creates understanding and it enhances Mizzou’s reputation. The Mizzou brand is made up of two essential parts, our identity and our strategic messaging.
Our identity consists of long-term visual elements including logos (which we call signatures), institutional marks, the colors black and gold and our stationery policy.
Strategic messaging on the other hand is how we communicate with our audiences, allowing us to speak in one voice. It creates lasting and impactful messaging for students, faculty, staff, alumni, corporate partners and the public at large.
When our identity is used consistently by all areas of the University, we build recognition and trust in our marketing. And with a strong brand behind us, we shape the way our audiences perceive the University of Missouri.
