Guidelines for

Business Cards & Letterhead

University Stationery Policy

Official university stationery should be used by all units, including schools, colleges, offices, programs, labs, institutes and centers. Using branded stationery ensures our audiences recognize official communications. Our official stationery set includes letterhead (and e-letterhead), business cards, envelopes and email signatures. No part of any item may be recreated.

Printing Services
All stationery must be printed through Printing Services. A small fee is charged for e-letterhead templates, which are made by Printing Services to adhere to our guidelines and ADA compliance. Do not recreate any part of the official stationery set (business cards, letterhead, e-letterhead, envelopes).

Printing Services Transition Update
Continue to use the MU Printing Services storefront to order business cards, letterhead and envelopes. Printing Services is still providing these items at this time. When the transition happens, the online platform will be taken over by Modern Litho and they will be the exclusive provider of business cards and stationery. This will ensure compliance with our stationery policy.

Business Cards

Business cards are an important part of our visual identity and indicate your official affiliation with Mizzou. We offer both single-sided and double-sided formats. A double-sided card is ideal for faculty and staff who serve dual roles on campus.

The information on the back of a double-sided card must be approved by identity@missouri.edu.

Letterhead and E-Letterhead

Letterhead should be applicable for use throughout an entire school, college, unit or division and not personalized to an individual. This policy minimizes waste and prevents redundancy; letterhead is automatically personalized with the sender’s signature in the body content. Student organizations may not use MU letterhead.
