Mizzou Digital Asset Platform

The Mizzou Digital Asset Platform is a curated resource that brings Mizzou’s photography, video and high-level brand materials together in a centralized location that is easy to access and hosted by IntelligenceBank. The platform is managed by the DAM Working Group and Licensing and Brand Management.

On this page you will find information about logging into the platform, upload permissions, platform organization, file naming conventions, folder structure, standardized keywords and customization options to help you get the most out of this resource. Why is the Mizzou Digital Asset Platform a curated resource?

  • To maintain the quality of content on the platform.
  • To reduce duplicated content.
  • To eliminate content that does not meet Mizzou’s guidelines.
  • To maintain proper operation and maintenance.
  • To ensure digital assets are timely and organized.

Upload Permissions

The Mizzou Digital Asset Platform is a centralized platform that is made better when our campus partners share their assets. Campus partners may be given access to upload when they:

  • Commit to sharing high-quality assets.
  • Complete contributor/uploader training.
  • Agree to allow the DAM Working Group to make any changes to assets needed to meet guidelines.

Photo and Video Naming

The following is the file naming convention for photo and video assets:

Date_Category_Descriptor-Sequence

Example: 20250105_CB_Columns-005

  • Date (Year/Month/Day): 20250105
  • Category: CB
  • Descriptor: Columns
  • Sequence: 005

This photo was shot on January 5, 2025. It is categorized as Campus Beauty (CB), the subject is the Columns, and it is the fifth photo in the series.

Folder Structure

The assets are organized into category folders, parent folders and subfolders. A short explanation of the parent folder content is provided when applicable. Content within subfolders named Events or Marketing are defined as:

  • Events: any asset taken to document an event for the parent folder area.
  • Marketing: any asset that is used to promote the parent folder area. Select event photos will be moved into the marketing folder for broader use.

Standardized Tags and Keywords

Standardized tags are a set of designated words and phrases assigned to assets uploaded to the Mizzou Digital Asset Platform. Use of these keywords creates a standardized and searchable platform. This list is maintained by Licensing and Brand Management. It will be continuously developed as assets are added to the platform.

Platform Customizations

These customizations are available to help you use the Mizzou Digital Asset Platform in your daily routines.

Create and share personal collections for your projects. Collections can be found from the main navigation menu under the ‘Assets’ drop-down.

Creating a Collection

Select the asset(s) you want to add. Under ‘Select Bulk Action’, choose ‘Add to My Collections’. If you do not currently have a collection, you will enter a name for it in the dialogue box or select from an existing collection. Once a collection exists, you can add single or multiple assets to it and delete assets you’ve added to it.

Sharing a Collection

Connectors help you access the Mizzou Digital Asset Platform within commonly used programs.

Adobe CC Connector
(works in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)

Microsoft Office 365 Connector
(works in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and OneNote)

Saved Searches allow you to find assets you commonly search for with one click.

Creating a New Saved Search

  • Click on the Filter Panel icon within the search bar.
  • Click on the Add Saved Search button at the top of the Filter Panel.
    • Any search term or filtering you have already applied will be added to the Saved Search.
    • When the Saved Search area is open, you can continue to add any additional filtering criteria from the left.
    • Add a Name for your Saved Search and click Save.
