Club Sports Guidelines
If you are a student participating in a Club Sport at MizzouRec, these guidelines are for you. When ordering apparel, uniforms, merchandise and promotional items, follow these guidelines to ensure your items comply with University policy.

Club Sports Logos
These are the logos Mizzou Club Sports may use. They may not be recreated, stretched, distorted or recolored.

Apparel, Merchandise & Promotional Items
Club Sports teams may order/sell non-uniform merchandise and promotional items to raise money, encourage fan support and for personal use. Orders must be purchased and/or sold through a licensed vendor of the University of Missouri. Only licensed vendors are allowed to legally reproduce University trademarks (logos, marks, verbiage) on products. Have questions about these guidelines, or need help? Email identity@missouri.edu.
How to Order Products
- Choose a licensed vendor.
- Work with the licensed vendor to select your product(s) within your budget.
- Follow the Mizzou Club Sports Design Guidelines. Whether submitting a design to a licensed vendor or working with them to create the design, the guidelines must be followed.
- The licensed vendors will submit a Product Request Form to our office along with the final artwork for approval.
- Any changes needed to meet guidelines will be communicated to the vendor.
Design Guidelines
Follow these guidelines to ensure your product meets Mizzou identity and brand guidelines.
Required
These required elements must be on every product ordered.
- Club Sports Mark
- The Club Sports mark (with or without sport name) is required on all items.
Optional
The following are optional items that may be included on items when guidelines are followed:
- Sport Name
- When including the sport name in a design, it must be formatted as: “Club [sport name].
- Ex: Club Running, Club Swim
- When including the sport name in a design, it must be formatted as: “Club [sport name].
- Trademarked Verbiage
- Club Sports may use the following verbiage in their designs when using the proper registration marks:
- Mizzou®
- University of Missouri®
- Tigers™
- Missouri®
- Club Sports may use the following verbiage in their designs when using the proper registration marks:
- Sponsor Names/Logos
- Sponsor names/logos may be included on an item in a separate imprint location.
Do Not Include
The following items may not be included in designs or on product:
- Mizzou Trademarks and Logos
- Mizzou signature or unit signature
- Athletic Tiger Head
- Truman the Tiger Illustration
- Stacked MU
- UM Seal
- Any additional trademarks owned by Mizzou
- Trademarked Verbiage
- MU™
- Mizzou-rah™
- Truman™
- The Zou™
- MIZ™
- ZOU™
- Every True Son®
- MIZZOUMADE™
- Can’t Be Tamed™
- Generic Tiger Images/Illustrations
- The only tiger imagery allowed is the Spirit Tiger head in the Club Sports mark may be used.
- Athletic Font or Similar Fonts
- May not include the Athletic font or fonts that closely resemble that font.
- External Trademarks
- Trademarks from other entities or derivatives of those marks.
- Student Athletes/NIL
- Use of a current student athlete’s name, nickname or likeness. Any use of a student athlete’s name, nickname or picture must be approved by the MU Compliance Office.
- Drugs and Firearms
- Mizzou’s name or logo may not be used in connection with the promotion of alcohol, firearms, tobacco or other drugs, or in connection with pornography or other forms of expression limited by law.

Uniforms
Uniforms for Club Sports must be ordered through a licensed vendor. A uniform is defined as apparel that is worn during game play.

Fundraisers
Club Sports teams may sell non-uniform merchandise and promotional items to raise money and encourage fan support. Fundraiser items are for fans and alumni and should not be worn by current team members or as a uniform during games.
