Content Management Systems

A website content management system, or CMS, is software that helps Web developers and editors to build, update, store and maintain websites in a centralized location. A CMS streamlines the site management process, enables contributors to work collaboratively on Web projects and allows non-technical content providers to modify sites with little technical training.

Cascade Server

As part of a campuswide initiative, the Division of Information Technology and Marketing & Communications have jointly implemented the campus Web content management system Cascade Server. The CMS enables Web developers and editors to manage their websites in the CMS and deploy them to the appropriate Web servers.

MU units may be able to build new sites in or migrate sites to Cascade Server by working with the Digital Communications team in Mizzou Creative. Follow the Cascade guidelines for using this CMS.
