Want your stories to be part of Mizzou News? Contact us with recent work or ideas for new projects. Each story featured on Mizzou News links directly to the site from which it originated. Many stories featured on Mizzou News also will be featured on missouri.edu.
Mizzou News is designed for a general audience. We seek stories with broad appeal to the average person. We reach out to current and prospective students, faculty and staff as well as alumni. We aim to keep the people of the state of Missouri informed about the important work happening on our campus and to inspire fellow Missourians.
Every story submitted to Mizzou News must include a photo or other image. For a regular feature story, we require a horizontal image at least 500 pixels wide. Stories selected for the main banner image require horizontal photos at least 1,200 pixels wide. Our designers will select photos, crop the photos and determine which photos work best for the site.
Videos featured on Mizzou News are hosted on YouTube (theMizzouTube) and embedded in Mizzou News.
Title and Teaser
We prefer for every story on Mizzou News to include a short, catchy title of two to four words and a somewhat longer and informative teaser. Alliteration, puns, idioms and word play are welcome in the title. Concrete information is required for the teaser. The title should work with the lead image. Take a look at our archives for examples.
